Wigginton Shiseikai Karate Club instructor Sensei Paul Wright shows the technique that helped him pass his 4th dan exam in Glasgow.
More than 200 students attended the grading under the critical eye of top Japanese technical director for the Japan Jarate Association Sensei Abe Keigo 8th dan. Wright was only one of four to pass of the the 15 students who took the gradings.
He has fought in Moscow, Switzerland, Poland and Holland and this year hopes to take a team to Lubek, Germany, for the World Championships.
Under Wright's guidance Wigginton Shiseikai KC and has enjoyed international recognition.
He teaches karate at Wigginton Primary School, Westfield Lane, on Tuesday and Thursday nights and at Fitness First, Clifton Moor on Monday evenings.
