MY first thought when I read about Tesco's latest venture - providing morning after pills to teenage girls - was disgust. But on consideration, and to emulate Ella Hirst's excellent letter on Will Young (March 16), this says more about society than it does about Tesco.
Nothing will stop promiscuity among teenage girls. They know the risks and probable results, but all they see is the excitement and power so will continue their sexual experiments despite everything.
Anything that will stem the tide of unplanned babies can do nothing but good. It will mean fewer abortions and will save the council's money in funding the upbringing of these tragic mites as well as providing their hopelessly irresponsible mothers with free homes and furniture.
