THE trial of a policewoman accused of supplying a police document to a suspect in a nightclub assault case was today beginning at York Crown Court.
Clare Woodall, of York police, is jointly accused with Paul Douglas, 30, of Harrogate, of conspiring to pervert the course of justice. She is also charged with misconduct as a police officer.
The prosecution alleges that Woodall supplied Douglas with a police log of a violent incident outside a York nightclub that contained names and address of witnesses, when she knew or believed that he was suspected of committing an offence.
