I AM amazed at the shallowness of Julian Cole's article on creationism (March 15). For those of us who believe in one Almighty God, the story of creation is a no-brainer.
An Almighty God capable of creating the whole universe and beyond is more than capable of creating life as described in the Book of Genesis.
Scientists can only work on materials already here. They talk about the Big Bang and evolution, but they have no answer to the question: "Where did the original matter come from?"
One story tells of the scientist who, after years of study, finally formed human life from a speck of dust.
Looking up to the sky he said: "I don't know whether or not you are really there God, but either way you are now redundant. I can do what you can do."
Amused by this God paid him a visit and said "let me see what you can do". The scientist stooped to pick up a speck of dust at which point God intervened and said: "Oh no, use your own dust!"
Religion has the answer and only fools ignore it.

...THEY are at it again, the pseudo-scientists! It is still the "theory" of evolution. Where is the evidence for evolution? Fossils only show that different species were around at various times in pre-history.
There is no evidence let alone proof that one developed into the other.
Not one so-called "missing link" has ever been discovered and if evolution was a fact unquestionably there would be samples alive today.
Evolution is a religion requiring as much faith as any creationist. Scientists (real ones) tell me the universe is subject to the third law of thermodynamics, the law of entropy, that energy is gradually being used up and the universe is running down. This law is incompatible with evolution as a creating and regenerating principle.
