A MAN charged with possessing cannabis with a street value of £70,000 has been remanded in custody by Selby magistrates.
Philip James Easey, 41, of Northfield Lane, Riccall, was arrested by police on Monday while travelling on the A19 near York.
He faces five charges. They are:
- Monday, March 11, 2002, possession of approximately ten kilogrammes of cannabis resin, with intent to supply
- Friday November 16, 2001, at York, supplied ten kilogrammes of cannabis resin to another person
- Tuesday, January 15, 2002, at Ramsbottom, near Bury, Lancashire, supplied 50 kilogrammes of cannabis resin
- Monday March 11, 2002, at Escrick, possession of cannabis
- Monday March 11, 2002, possession of cannabis resin.
Easey was remanded in custody until March 19 when he is due to reappear at Selby Magistrates Court.
