THE top three teams in division one of the RJF Homes Beckett League dropped points last weekend as the competition hots up for top four Victory Cup placings among the leading six teams.
Slingsby, third from bottom of the table and who the previous weekend had scored their first league win since September, produced their best performance of the campaign in winning 4-0 at home to third from the top Union Rovers.
Darren Dyer scored twice in the first half, after five and 25 minutes.
Neil Jackson made it 3-0 after 55 minutes and Adrian Holtby completed the scoring in the 88th minute with his first goal for the club.
League leaders Rosedale came from two down at half-time to snatch a 2-2 draw at Aislaby United, whose scorers were Kenny Temple and Will Emms.
Ben Adamson netted twice for Rosedale in the second half with a free kick after an hour and a penalty ten minutes from time.
Fourth-placed Black Swan Pickering won 3-2 away to second-placed Kirkbymoorside Reserves. Black Swan went ahead after four minutes when Simon Dale crossed from the goal line for Mark Ainsworth to score from close range.
After 18 minutes Black Swan went further ahead when Chris Weighell flicked on a corner for Rob Kerr to nod in.
Nick Hodgson and Bobby Brewer goals put the home side level before the interval and in the second half Steve Sailes got the winner for Black Swan with a 25 yard shot after 64 minutes.
Two goals in the last ten minutes gave Old Malton 3rds a 2-2 against Sinnington in a fixture switched late in the day to Malton.
The match went went ahead thanks to Old Malton club secretary Les Swift, who put up the nets and marked the pitch in pouring rain.
Dan Harland and Lee Mitchell scored for Sinnington, Mark Taylor and Dave Ward for Old Malton.
Ampleforth's game at home to Kirkdale United started 28 minutes latest because the visiting team forgot their shorts. Once properly kitted out they went on to win 4-1.
Patrick Robinson got Kirkdale's first two goals before Kevin Wright pulled one back for Ampleforth from the penalty spot. In the second half Robinson completed his hat-trick and a Philip Marwood penalty completed the scoring.
In division two, Coxwold beat visitors Duncombe Park 5-4 after having led 5-1. Craig Newton put Duncombe ahead but Coxwold hit back to be 4-1 up at half-time with goals from David Jaques, Paul Doy, Martin Gallon and Phil Taylor.
Bobby Pearson made it 5-1 early in the second half and then Duncombe finished strongly with goals from Paul Brackley, Brian Connor and Liam Ogunsmakin.
Pickering Royal Oak's second division game at home to Ryedale SC Reserves was abandoned after 20 minutes by referee Andrew Snowden with Royal Oak one up thanks to an own goal. The game will have to be replayed.
