TURNING to the legal drugs trade, today is No Smoking Day. Levels of irritability soared as thousands of people went without their daily nicotine intake.
Print firm RR Donnelley has a novel way to encourage its staff to quit. From August 1, smoking at the plant will be outlawed; employees are being offered help to kick the weed in the meantime.
Will the threat of losing their job spur workers to quit? Or will it increase their stress levels and cigarette consumption accordingly? Only time will tell.
