POLICE investigating the disappearance of a 19-year-old girl have searched a Scarborough flat, but to no avail.
North Yorkshire Police were called in by their colleagues in Durham after Claire Louise Smith, from Peterlee, Durham, failed to return home last Friday.
According to her parents Claire, who has learning difficulties, recently received an email from a Scarborough man.
This man, believed to be in his early 20s, visited Claire on Friday and the pair left together at about 12.30pm.
Claire is thin with a pale complexion, brown eyes and short dark curly hair. She has tattoos on both arms, a picture of a rose and the word Mam on her right arm and the word Dad on her left.
