I AM very concerned at the comments made by Mick Phythian in his remarks about York's Green Belt review. He states that the review is being done in a manner described by him as "by stealth" (Letters, March 6).
He also claims that large areas of green space are being given permission for building, which will be outside the realm of the eventual public inquiry.
In the pursuit of truth, and as a member of the planning sub-committee which deals with the large rural area south of the city, perhaps he would elaborate on these claims to help me make the correct decisions when called upon to do so.

...I ECHO Mr Dixon Smith (Letters, March 8). How do we make a contribution to the Green Belt debate?
I was annoyed to see in the council's About York paper that there are blocks of one or two land developments dotted all around York except poor old Huntington where seven developments are proposed. I wish to object to this, but when I visited the planning office in St Leonard's Place the map on general view is of far too small a scale to identify anything.
The second, larger map, supplied over the counter, makes no sense when compared to the rough guide map published in their paper.
So how do we debate or object to their proposals when we can't find out what they are?
