FOUR flood warnings were in operation on North Yorkshire's rivers earlier today, following heavy rainfall over the weekend. The affected areas were the Ouse at the staithes in York, and at Naburn Lock; the Swale at Brompton; and the Swale and Wiske at Kirby Wiske. A spokeswoman for the Environment Agency said the warnings were not likely to last the day.
