DANCE fever is set to hit a York school this week.
The Clover School of Dancing is hosting Dance Fever 2002 at Archbishop Holgate School, Hull Road, York, from Thursday to Saturday. The proceeds from the shows, involving 200 dancers from three-year-olds to adults, will go towards supporting Archbishop Holgate's bid to become a specialist college in science. Saturday's show has already sold out but there are still some tickets remaining for Thursday and Friday. Elaine Taylor, of the Clover School of Dancing said: "The response has been overwhelming. We pledged £1,000 to the school and we know we should get that, but we are now hoping to raise about £1,500."
The shows will start at 7pm each night and will involve tap, ballet and jazz. The performances will vary from Tweenies and Bob the Builder to a Madonna medley and a scene from the Second World War. Anyone interested in buying a ticket, priced £4.50 for adults and £3.50 for children and OAPs, should contact Elaine Taylor on 01904 425259.
