YORK RI Under 15s out-fought Dinnington's large side to win 19-5.
Some excellent tackling and sharp finishing saw RI build up a 19-0 interval lead through Mark Musgrove, Elliott Richardson and Dave West with Dave Holt kicking two conversions.
With the wind at their backs the big Dinnington pack hammered away at RI but only had one touchdown from a rolling maul to show for their efforts.
Daniel Hunt and Gareth Stewart did well against a physically bigger Dinnington pack, while Chris Dixon caught the eye on his debut in the back row.
RI's Under 13s went down 34-12 to Malton and Norton's accomplished side. Daniel Spencer and Tom Elliott scored tries for RI.
York Under 8s achieved their best results of the season in a triangular tournament involving Morley and Old Thornesians. Opening against Morley, York were soon in top gear and swept to a 45-15 victory with tries by Tom Kimpson (2), Tom Edwards (2), Oliver Snook (2), Edward Milton, Josh Harland and Hugh Nicholson.
The Thorne game was much closer with York winning 15-10, Snook scoring the decisive try near the end. Evan Sleeman and Tom Edwards scored York's other touchdowns.
