A YORK pub is swapping its easy chairs and roaring fires for a disco inferno.
The city is to get its first theme pub when the Brewers Arms, in Tanner Row, is transformed into... Flares.
Gone will be the hand-pulled ales, darts and dominoes. In their place will be afros, medallions and the sound of Donna Summer.
Licensee Beverley Collins believes the pub, which opens for business on March 21, is destined to be a big hit.
Beverley said: "I used to run the Brewers Arms with my husband and didn't want to leave.
"The new pub will be the grooviest, funkiest big night out in York. It will have a late licence, theme bars and special offers. I am really getting into it. I think the people of York will too."
