York City this afternoon signed Barnsley utility player Jon Parkin, who had been on loan at Bootham Crescent.
Manager Terry Dolan declind to say how long Parkin's contract was but it is understood that City will have to pay the Oakwell club a sell on fee should City sell the 20-year-old.
Parkin, who stands at 6ft 4in, scored a late winner on his City debut at Southend last month when he played up front but has since featured in the side solely as a central defender.
