JUST one thing is stopping Sean Stadden from driving a car... the distance between his feet and the pedals.
At just under 4ft tall the 24-year-old needs special equipment to enable him to take lessons.
Now kind-hearted drinkers at the Lettered Board Pub in Pickering are to help Sean realise his dream.
Landlord Dave Wilkinson is planning to raise the money he needs by staging a pub quiz and raffle.
"Sean is a regular and a popular lad so I thought we could help him," said Dave.
"We need to buy him some adapters, which will enable him to reach the pedals, and hopefully we'll raise some money for him to start some lessons."
Sean said he hoped learning to drive would make it easier for him to get a job. He has been unemployed for the last six months.
"I'd love to get a job as a driver, but first I need to take lessons," he said.
"I need special adapters which will enable me to reach the pedals.
"I've been searching for some on the Internet and I've found some which will cost around £300.
"I really appreciate the effort Dave is making. It'll be great to get out there on the open road."
Dave is hoping to put out an appeal to regulars and traders around the town for raffle prizes.
"Hopefully if we can get enough prizes together we can have a pretty good bash," he said.
