WE are delighted that plans for a York Planetarium are back on the drawing board.
The Yorkshire Philosophical Society has shown trademark tenacity by resubmitting the idea for Hungate after its plans for a Museum Gardens planetarium fell through.
York needs an exciting new tourist attraction. The planetarium would perfectly complement existing museums such as Jorvik, which look inwards and downwards for inspiration, by looking up and out at the vast night sky. And it would underline York's modern role as a science city with star quality.
