BUSRIDE, from Halifax, are the first out-of-town winners of a round one heat in the Fibbers/Evening Press Battle of the Bands 2002.
Last night, they secured the Secret Panel vote - worth 20 per cent - as well as the highest percentage of audience votes en route to victory in heat three at Fibbers, in Stonebow, York. Griffin's Bridge came second. Allia and the Asylum Seekers also competed.
In heat four, next Wednesday at 8pm, Ryan Shirlow & The Bloody Marys clash with Morgan Four, Screaming Banshee Aircrew and Velma's Time. Doors open at 7.30pm, entry £3.
