A PENSIONER was mugged by a youth on a pedal cycle as she walked home from a hospital appointment.
The 85-year-old woman was walking along Furlongs Avenue, in Norton, at 3.30pm on Tuesday, when the incident happened.
"She was walking along when a youth on a bicycle came up behind her and snatched her bag," said a police spokesman.
"She went to a neighbour's house and the incident was reported to police.
"The lady was shaken up but not injured. She was taken to Malton Hospital for a check-up."
Police are asking for witnesses to phone them on 01609 783131.
A young Norton man has been arrested for police questioning.
