York RI were given a tough time by Drax before winning 6-3 in ladies division one of York Badminton League.
Angie Spivey and Michelle Hall scored two wins for Drax, which included coming from behind for an exciting 2-15 17-15 17-16 success over Nicola Coggins and Carol Deighton.
Sheila Robinson and Karen Broster led Clifton to a 6-3 home win over Rowntree in ladies division one.
Robinson and Broster totalled 117-82 in three wins. Emma Andrew and Joan Emmerson scored two wins for Rowntree but lost 17-16 9-15 11-15 to Robinson and Broster.
In men's division one York RI won and IT Sports played reverse fixtures in men's division one, RI winning 5-4 at home and 6-3 away.
In RI's home match Paul Turner and Peter Howes totalled 90-51 in three wins, while in the away match IT Sports pair Paul Hardcastle and Stuart Fieldhouse totalled of 90-56 in three wins.
Mike Jones and James Croll totalled 90-15 in three straight wins as University Students 'A' won 9-0 at home to Railway Institute Tuesday/Thursday 'A'.
Selby 77 continued their improved form in men's division two with a 7-2 win away to Knavesmire.
Graham Campbell and Steven Falkinham totalled 94-57 in three straight wins for Selby, while Rex Pocklington and Rob Overall totalled 90-62 in three wins.
Andy Barratt and Stuart Robertson totalled 102-55 in three wins as Clifton 'B' beat York University Staff Club 7-2 in men's division three.
Staff Club's Simon Fletcher and Andy Brown won 9 and 11 against Alan Ward and Andrew Cooper.
Steve Parr and Michelle Hall defeated Steve and Emma Andrew 15-11 10-15 15-12 in the last rubber to clinch a 5-4 win for Drax 'A' away to Rowntree 'A' in mixed division one.
Lisa Metcalfe and Sean Ogley were on top form as Shepherds won 7-2 away to Selby Jubilee in mixed division three.
Metcalfe and Sean Ogley's 90-48 total in three wins included a 6 and 2 success againstr Roy Cannon and Lynne Redman, who were the pick of the Jubilee pairs.
Mally Watson and Janet Conyers totalled 92-46 in three wins as Drax 'D' won 8-1 at home to RI Tuesday/Thursday in mixed division four.
Institute's Dave Thompson and Tracy Robinson beat Ken Walker and Sue Read 7 and 8.
Fulfordgate's Maureen Medlar and Matt Hobman had one of their best series so far this season with three straight wins for a total of 90-40 in the 6-3 at home to Tadcaster.
In mixed division six, Selby Jubilee 'C' won 8-1 away to Terry's and 7-2 at home to Middlethorpe.
Lynn Dawson and Franni Milliojevic were unbeaten and had a two-match total of 180-90. Iain McGregor and Val Newman were unbeaten and had a two-match total of 193-101.
