Tomorrow's National Hunt meeting at Chepstow hinges on an inspection this afternoon.
The Welsh track is waterlogged in places after a further 21mm of rain overnight and officials will look at the course at 4pm.
Clerk of the course David McAllister said: "I've been on the course and it's waterlogged in places.
"It just depends on whether it makes any move at all, I think it's highly unlikely because there are more showers forecast - we've had one good one already today.
"It's bright and breezy but you couldn't have raced at 7.30am this morning when I looked at the course."
