MY wife recently had to experience another major operation in a potentially life-threatening scenario. The positive result, brought about by the surgeon, Mr Nicholson and his team, together with the cancer-care sisters and the excellent nursing staff on Ward 11 at York District Hospital, was a credit to the system.
We shall be forever grateful for their skills and care.
On a totally different danger level, at around the same time, I had a small operation on my foot.
At the hospital? No, this was carried out by one of our highly-qualified GPs in Kirkbymoorside, with after-care treatment by the superb in-house nurses, fronted by a team of efficient reception staff.
One hopes everyone in this area appreciates the wonderful medical centre we have on our Ryedale doorstep, in tandem with such a helpful and resourceful dispensing chemist nearby.
Don Nicholson,
Kirkdale Court,
Kirkbymoorside.
...MANY thanks to the medical, nursing and ancillary staff at York District Hospital for the kindness and care shown to my late husband and myself.
During his long illness he attended several out-patient clinics and was an in-patient on three different wards.
He was always cared for with friendly efficiency and compassion.
We hear many complaints about hospital treatment these days, but I have only praise for York District Hospital.
Alice Grey,
Tiplady Close, Easingwold.
