ELLA Hirst asks "What did we look like?" and proceeds to classify all fashion-conscious people of 40 years ago, as "sad nerds, history teachers, over zealous social workers, baggy-bottomed cord-wearers, and bearded folk singers" (February 11).
I worked alongside Ella in these formative fashion years and it wasn't only her polo-neck sweater which was black.
Black pointed shoes, black stockings, black skirt, black eye-lashes and eye shadow, long black hair and long black finger nails - that was our Ella! And I thought she was gorgeous.
Remember me, Ella - I was that prat in "Jesus sandals" who you wouldn't talk to! But I still love you from afar!
