IT WAS the "first day at school" with a difference.
Instead of new pupils experiencing their first day at school, the pupils were inspecting the first appearance of their new school in York.
The builder's sign went up at the site of the new Ebor School, on Rawcliffe Lane, Clifton.
Construction of the new, million-pound development for Ebor, Bootham School's junior department, began a few weeks ago, and will be completed this summer ready for the new academic year.
Watching were the headmaster of Bootham School, Ian Small, plus pupils from Ebor School, and Ebor's head teacher, Valerie Tildesley.
