WILL York's maize maze become an amazing craze or just a passing phase? Certainly the city's tourist chiefs think it is a winner.
Farmer Tom Pearcy's imaginative proposal to create a huge puzzle from a field of maize is due before planners next month. No doubt they will ask many questions about this unusual application.
Such as: what happens if the maze is targeted by the strange powers which create crop circles? Will customers get a refund - or be charged extra for the added level of difficulty?
