FIREFIGHTERS from Harrogate are set to do The Full Monty later this week - to raise money for a colleague's sick daughter.
A major fundraising event starring stripping, strumming, and singing firemen is planned for Thursday evening at Northallerton's Amadeus Club.
It is just the latest in a series of activities which could raise up to £35,000 for Rosie Henry, daughter of Harrogate sub-officer Richard Henry.
The four-year-old, from Northallerton, suffers from a rare degenerative disease and money raised will go towards improving her quality of life through major alterations at her home.
A fire service spokeswoman said the evening will involve four acts.
Officers from brigade headquarters who have created a new band called FB5X would perform the Timewarp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Green Watch from Harrogate would dress as the Village People and perform YMCA, Red Watch would dress in drag to perform songs from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, while White Watch would strip from their firefighter uniforms.
But a spokeswoman would not say if they really would do the complete, Full Monty, saying the finale of their act was being kept a secret.
She said it was hoped that ticket sales and a raffle would raise over £5,000.
Derek Fowlds, who plays Oscar Blaketon in TV's Heartbeat drama, is set to attend the evening, for which some 800 tickets have been sold. Only a few are still available, and anyone wanting them should phone 01609 780150.
