DEEP in the mean streets of New York, the Jets need a juke box - and they're hoping you can help.
Well, in fact, it's the mean streets of Haxby and Wigginton, and the Jets are actually a local youth theatre group, who need a juke box for their production of West Side Story.
The Flying Ducks Youth Theatre say they are hoping to find an authentic 1950s music maker to fill out a part of the set.
Director and set designer Stephen Outhwaite said: "We can recreate many aspects of the New York cityscape, but a juke box would be the finishing touch for this scene, and there is nothing like the real thing."
Stephen added: "It doesn't have to work."
The 50-strong cast believe the juke box would top off what they call their most ambitious production yet.
The show takes centre stage at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre from March 21 to 23, with performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
If you can help in the quest for a juke box, ring Stephen on 01904 761806. The group can arrange collection.
