YOUR report on Utopia - sorry, New Osbaldwick - was very interesting (February 6).
Do the various people responsible for these flights of fancy ever walk round Tang Hall, 'Old' Osbaldwick and Badger Hill, particularly on weekend evenings? Do they really think this wonderful new village will escape the ravages of the hordes of young vandals emanating from the Tang Hall area?
Perhaps they will have a village policeman. For the benefit of Osbaldwick people, they are the ones who wear blue uniforms and sometimes have helmets; a rare species in this area.
Obviously the best place for Utopia is in the Piccadilly/Hungate area where there would not be the infrastructure and traffic problems so obvious in the Osbaldwick development. If this sounds cynical what can you expect when we have a council and Government which still use the word 'Labour' in their title.
Mr C Stamp,
