NINE people were charged with public order offences following an incident which left a police officer with slight injuries after York City's home game with Hartlepool.
Eight people from Hartlepool and one from York were arrested and charged after trouble erupted in Davygate at about 6.30pm on Saturday.
The nine were released on police bail and are due to appear before magistrates.
The police officer did not require hospital treatment.
Police said the street was busy at the time of the incident, and have appealed for witnesses to contact Sergeant Nick Smart from York taskforce team on 01904 631321.
