IT'S BEEN a top week for Alan Fettis, who is not giving up his Evening Press player of the year award without a fight.
Fettis marked his 100th City appearance with a man-of-the-match display and three-point haul in last Saturday's 1-0 win over Southend.
He did it again just three days late in the 1-1 draw at Halifax to move within a point of Michael Proctor at the top of the rankings
Strangely enough, last Saturday's game at Roots Hall also marked Matt Hocking's 100th appearance for City and he celebrated the milestone with a one-point display.
Hocking, runner-up last season, also picked up another point for his performance at Halifax to move into double figures.
Lee Nogan, who today was poised to make his 50th Minstermen appearance, celebrated his return to the side with a two-point display against Halifax.
Skipper Chris Brass earned the remaining two points at Southend.
Latest standings: Proctor 39pts, Fettis 38, Nogan 30, Bullock 26, Edmondson 16, Brass 16, Basham 14, Fielding 12, Hocking 10, Smith 7, Cooper 6, Hobson 4, Potter 4, Richardson 4, Duffield 3, Howarth 3, Fox 1.
CITY supporters will be out to prove they're North Yorkshire's brainiest fans later this month when they go head-to-head with their Scarborough counterparts in an annual sports and general knowledge quiz.
The first leg of the David Longhurst Challenge kicks-off at 8pm on February 28 in the Scarborough social club at the McCain Stadium.
Played over two legs - the return will be at Bootham Crescent later this year - the City fans will be looking to make it four wins on the bounce.
ITV SPORT channel's quiz, Do I Not Know That, are looking for City fans to help swell a crowd.
On Sunday, March 3, and Sunday, March 31, a team of City brainboxes will be returning to compete in the quiz and are looking for fellow supporters to cheer them on.
The show is presented by ex-Brookside star Simon O'Brien with the aim to find the football brains of Britain.
From 108 teams representing their clubs, the City quintet of Andrew Thornton, George Rowe, Tim Turner, Nick Sanderson and James Richardson, have qualified for the last 36 of the quiz at Granada Studios.
