ALL Saints School Under 15s basketball team showed no hangover from their appearance in the national finals by capturing the York title in style.
They finished fourth in the nationals after a tough five-match programme. But they showed no ill-effects the following weekend as they thumped Oaklands 88-44.
Oaklands are also on the trail of national glory as they have reached the quarter-finals of the national 'B' competition in which they face Sedgefield. The date and venue have yet to be confirmed.
HOCKEY
QUEEN Margaret's School retained the Under 14 York and District Schools' Hockey title after beating the Mount School 7-0 in the final.
Queen Margaret's won their section on their home pitch at Escrick and were joined by the Mount who won through the section played at Tadcaster.
Sarah Batty, of Queen Margaret's was the competition's leading scorer in the competition.
LACROSSE
Queen Margaret's were also successful at a the Edinburgh Lacrosse Tournament.
Despite strong winds and doubts about whether the team would make it to Scotland, Queen Margaret's managed to capture the St Leonard's Centenary Cup at St George's School.
They won all seven of their matches to go joint top with St Albans School and North London Collegiate School so the competition was decided on goal average.
With a much superior goal average of 42 goals scored, and only three conceded, Queen Margaret's regained the trophy. Last year it was won by Harrogate College.
