TWO men who died following an horrific two-car smash on the A64 between Malton and York have been named.
The driver of the dark blue Ford Fiesta, who died at the scene of the accident near the Welburn crossroads, was 21-year-old Martin Blaney, from Doncaster.
His passenger, who later died in York District Hospital, has been named as 18-year-old Adam Sneddon, also from Doncaster. The driver of the silver Seat, which was travelling towards York, was Philip Button, from Leeds, who was released from York District Hospital after suffering minor injuries.
Anyone who saw the accident, at about 5pm on Friday, or saw a Ford Fiesta travelling towards Malton between 4pm and 5pm, is asked to contact Traffic Constable Clare Sawyer on 01609 789212.
