JUST like many of your readers, I am outraged and appalled by the harrowing story about the delays being forced on heart patients in North Yorkshire.
This is clear evidence that for all Labour's talk about a National Health Service, what we really have is a regional health service, or what they call "post code rationing".
If these patients lived in another part of the country they would be treated faster.
Mr Blair talks a lot about reform in general, but never about specifics. What specific reform has he in mind to address this problem?
Michael Mitchell,
Thorpe Lane,
...IT is telling that news of the postponement of Jean Pittman's urgent operation appeared on the day our Prime Minister disappears on another ego-boosting foreign tour (February 6).
Why can millions of pounds be found to jet our Prime Minister all over the world yet at home we have hospitals, local councils and police forces running out of money?
It's time this representative of the people stayed at home to represent the people who elected him, and sorted out these problems.
