BROTHERS in arms Marcus and Danny Allan are roaring their way up the rugby league ladder.

After shining in junior games for amateur club Heworth, the duo have been snapped up by Super League outfit Castleford Tigers.

Marcus, who plays at under-15 level, and Danny, an U13s youngster, have both been offered places with Castleford's prestigious scholarship scheme.

The scheme allows them to continue playing for Heworth but at the same time receive expert coaching from the Super League club and effectively be on Castleford's books.

The next step would then be to sign up for the Tigers' Academy when they are old enough.

Proud dad Mark Allan, who coaches Heworth under-13s, said: "Danny signed up a few weeks ago and now Marcus has got forms as well.

"They first spotted Danny a few months ago and they saw Marcus play in Doncaster a few weeks ago. Both have done really well."

Marcus, who also helps out at Heworth under-13s training sessions, is pictured with Danny and the rest of the under-13s squad, who have received sponsorship from by PLS Security.
