HANNAH Petts won five of York City Baths Club's gold medals in the Harrogate and District Open meeting.

Swimming in the 10 years age group she clocked a national qualifying times in the 200m breastroke and 200m freestyle, missed another national qualifying time by a fingernail in the 200m butterfly. Her other wins came in the 50m backstroke and 100m individual medley.

She also won a silver medal in the 200m backstroke and sixth place in the 50m freestyle.

All her swims were in personal best times and saw her collect the top swimmer award in her age group.

Lewis Porylo clocked national qualifying times in the 15 years 100 and 200m breaststroke, finishing first and second respectively.

Phillip Graves won the 50 and 200m butterfly and 200m freestyle and three bronze swims in the 100m butterfly and freesyle and 200m individual medley - all in pb times.

Jenny Hoggard surprised herself by winning the 16 years plus 200m breaststroke, an event she rarely swims.

She finished second in her preferred event of 200m butterfly.

Tom Southam had a great weekend with five victories in the 15 years plus age group.

He won the 50 and 200m backstroke, 100m freestyle and butterfly and 200 individual medley.

York City Baths Club won 23 gold medals in all, with others going to Alice Sunderland, Robert Kinnell, Tom Southam, Alexandra Outhwaite, Gawain Ng.

Jennifer Welsh took her tally of titles to four in the second half of New Earswick Swimming Club's Annual Championships.

Her latest victories came in the 11 and under 100m backstroke and breastroke.

Andrew Clapham set a record in the 13 and under 100m freestyle final and also finished with four titles.

Tony Shaw improved on his records in the 14 and over individual medley and 16 and over 100m butterfly and also won the 16-plus 100m freestyle crown to take his number of titles to six.
