SESSIONS 'A' team increased their lead in division one of Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League with a 9-1 win at home to Fulford Road WMC 'A'.
Mick Wilcockson and Chris Nicholls each won three and Nigel Thorn, playing his last game for a while, won two. Graham Hatfield took the point for Fulford WMC.
Third-placed York RI 'B' kept in the hunt for the title with a 9-1 win over a depleted Poppleton 'A', John Hughes and Doug Bartle each winning three for RI.
Ian Stansfield was unbeaten as Coneysthorpe 'A' beat their 'B' team 6-4. Charles Allenby won two for the 'A' team and Mick Burnett played well to win two for the 'B' team.
Richard Crowther was unbeaten as York RI 'A' beat Bootham Conservative Club 'A' 7-3.
In division two, York RI 'C' drew 5-5 with their fellow joint-leaders Poppleton 'B', who won the doubles to square the match.
Tim Smith scored three wins for RI. Dave Rawlings scored two wins for Poppleton.
Sessions 'B' lost ground to the top two when they only won 6-4 against Nestl Rowntree 'A', whose Dave Simpson won three. Worse was to follow as Sessions 'B' went down 6-4 to INL 'C', whose Martin Symonds scored three wins.
Jill Schofield was unbeaten as Nestl Rowntree 'B' beat BT 'A' 6-4. Richard Ingleby won three for Bootham Conservative Club 'C', who lost 6-4 to Nestl Rowntree 'B'.
Ed Wardman and John Temple each won three in Fulford Road WMC 'B' team's 9-1 win over BT 'A'.
Three wins from John Elliott, two from Derek Hood and one by Anne Barnard saw York RI 'D' win 7-3 against Northern Electric, whose Dave Boothroyd scored two wins.
In division three, Brian Milner and Jim Stevenson both scored three wins as second-placed BT 'B' beat York RI 'E' 9-1.
John Foxton scored three to help Coneysthorpe 'C' beat Fulford Road WMC 'C' 7-3.
David Atkinson's three wins helped Shepherds to a 6-4 win over Poppleton 'E'.
Adrian Church scored three wins as Norwich Union 'A' beat RI 'F' 6-4 to draw level on points with RI 'F' at the top of division four.
Alan Milner won three for Shepherds 'C' as they beat Poppleton 'F' 7-3.
