THIRD-PLACED Acomb picked up a 3-0 victory on their travels to second-from-bottom Adel II in Yorkshire League division one.
Adel created the better chances and Acomb were thankful that 'keeper Mike Brown was in fine form repelling the attacks.
Acomb had few chances in the first half yet on the stroke of half-time Acomb took the lead from a well-worked short corner which Baxter swept home.
In the second half, Acomb took control of the game as striker Chris Foster linked well with the midfield. Adrian Nye scored the second goal from another short corner and late in the game Peter Hilton scored a third, while Nick Linfoot could have made it 4-0 but his effort deflected wide.
Acomb II were far too good for Normanby Park IV as they ran out comprehensive 9-0 winners.
In a very physical game, Acomb had a 3-0 lead at half-time, with six more goals following after the break.
Andy Lovett led the scoring as he netted four goals.
Tadcaster picked up three welcomed points as they overcame Sheffield Hallam by the solitary goal, despite starting their division five game with eight players.
With some of the team getting lost of the way to the ground, Tadcaster faced a tricky opening, but once restored to full numbers Tad were commanding in defence, strong in midfield, but poor in attack.
Eventually Taddy managed to take one of the many chances presented to them when Naylor squeezed the ball home from a short corner and this was enough to secure the win.
Tadcaster II were held to a 0-0 division eight draw against a well-organised Huddersfield II team.
Huddersfield's tactic of defending deep paid dividends as they thwarted the Taddy attack - Stewart and Hunt going the closest to breaking the deadlock.
