A MAN killed in a North Yorkshire road crash was named today as 41-year-old Mark Anthony Jackson, of Tockwith, near York.
Mr Jackson died on Sunday after he was involved in the crash on the B1224, near Bickerton.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned to a date yet to be fixed.
Meanwhile, the sole survivor of an earlier crash on the same road where Mr Jackson died was said to be "comfortable" in York District Hospital.
Hilary Browne, aged 63 and from Keighley, was in a head-on crash on the road near Rufforth on January 27.
The four other people in the two- car crash - including Mrs Browne's husband Gordon - all died.
Meanwhile, police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to a Ryedale road accident in which a 47-year-old woman died. It took place at about 7.45am yesterday on the B1249 near Foxholes. The woman, from the Driffield area, has not yet been named.
