GOOD games from Maureen Tindall and Irene Taylor took Railway Institute to a York White Rose Ladies Darts League victory, but the outstanding performance was from Crescent's Milly Mountain, who closed the match with a superb 17 darts.

Institute now have a chance to claim the runners-up prize as Sun, the leaders, are eleven points clear.

Sun were 3-0 adrift against Deramore but clawed back with Ann Franks, Heather Beadnell, Sue Scrimshaw and, in the decider, Julie Scattergood.

Fulfordgate improved their hopes with a 5-2 win at New York in which Beryl Glover checked a splendid 123 finish.

Division two leaders Clarence won the team game but then lost the next six at Coach and Horses, whose Maggie Adamson shot a fine 20 darts.

Bumper Castle are now in top place even though they lost to Bowling Club, who had Mollie Berry, Dot Houlden and Glennis Ellis taking the late games to secure a 4-3 result.

Tap and Spile's captain Judith Stark took the decider against Winning Post captain Ann Robinson.

Division three leaders Huntington were beaten 4-3 by King William, who had Brenda Bainbridge making it all square and Pat Dickenson delivering the decider.

Bay Horse took second place with a win over Tramways, Angela Forth sealing the match with the best game.

Tankard took a leap up the table by beating Red Lion 5-2, Mary Mackinnon and Ann Collier leading the fight.

Pat and Jackie Price won the decider for Woolpack against York John Smith's Ladies League division three pacesetters Jubilee.

Woolpack are now joint second with Shepherd 'B', whose Julie Stables included two tons then partnered her captain Ann Wood to win the decider against Puss 'B'.

Linda Embleton and Sarah Van-Minnen were last game match winners for Clifton against Cueball, whose Joan Hunter hit the tons.

Lucy Harris shot out on 111 to give Woodman a 5-0 lead at Acomb.

Karen Barrett saved Old Ebor from the whitewash at Puss 'A', whose captain Cath Garnett was in fine form.

Division one leaders Brigadier galloped into a 5-0 lead before Sandra Bruce gained Ox's only point.

Cygnet, well led by Dawn Exton, were too hot for Nags to handle. The pairing of Dot Dykes and Julie Ashton won their only point.

Doreen Johnstone and Gill Hartley played well for Slipper but went down 7-2 to Phoenix 'B', whose stars were Tracey Farmeary (100, 100, 100) and Angie Hields (100, 100).

Phoenix 'A' pulled back from 4-2 down against Slip. Clair Cooper partnered Sandra Winters to set up a decider, which saw the dependable Babs Harrison and Carol Perrett check in 23 darts.

Jackie Coverdale and Joan Cockerill secured the victory for Vaults at Dringhouses.

Clifton went into second place in division two, one point behind Britannia 'A'. Clifton were given a solid start via Jo Hodges then Jacqui Richford, but Shepherd replied with Pat Hurst and Anne Allinson.

Clifton then took four of the remaining games for a 6-3 victory. Severus lost ground on the leaders when Jean Sanderson and Clare White secured the decider for Leeman 'B'.

Leeman 'A' were 4-2 up but Burton WMC stubbornly responded. Jenny Barron and Paula Rose set up the decider which Cath Barker and Margaret Davis secured.

Holgate WMC had the match sewn up within the singles against Britannia 'B' whose Sam McShane took their only point.

Half Moon also had the match in the bag before the pairs, Claire Knaggs playing well.
