TWO people died and a third was seriously hurt in three accidents on North Yorkshire roads.
In one crash today, a woman was killed and a man suffered chest injuries on the B1249 near Foxholes.
The accident happened at about 7.50am and police, fire crews and ambulance all attended the scene.
The injured man was taken to Scarborough District Hospital, but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Another driver was seriously injured in an accident on the A19 at Tollerton crossroads.
The crash, just before 8am, involved a cattle trailer and a car.
The male driver of the car was taken to York District Hospital with multiple injuries, including chest injuries. A spokesman for Tees, East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service said the injuries were serious but he was conscious at the scene.
The road was closed for more than an hour while the crash was cleared.
Two ambulance crews attended the scene and were treating two other casualties who suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Yesterday, a man was killed when he was in collision with a car as he walked with two male friends along the B1224 between Wetherby and Bickerton at about 1am.
The collision involved a blue Volvo estate car. Police said today they were keen to trace a couple in a white car which stopped at the scene of the accident, but which left before officers arrived.
The tragedy unfolded only a few miles from the scene of an accident which claimed four lives on the same road last week.
The crash at Rufforth killed friends Jonathan Forster, 20, from Tadcaster, Matthew Fox, 1998, from Stutton, and Rochelle Laverack, 16, from Clifton. They were all in one car.
The driver of the other car, Gordon Browne, 70, from Keighley, also died. His wife Hilary, 63, suffered serious injuries.
Anyone with any details about the accidents is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 01609 789326.
