Wigginton moved into the John Smith's Bitter Cup semi-finals with a hard fought 2-0 win over Derwent United.
After a goal-less first half, Paul Pemberton broke the deadlock with a 20-yard shot into the top corner. Stuart Greenwood sealed the victory with a debut goal.
Hounds joined them with an equally hard-earned 4-3 victory over Volunteers after extra time.
Gladwell gave Hounds the lead from the penalty spot but Lee Bond levelled before the break. Hounds regained the lead through Rhodes and when Gladwell slotted home his second spot kick to make it 3-1 the home side looked to be heading for victory in normal time.
However Volunteers hit back, Bond slotting home a penalty with ten minutes to go and with time ticking away Ward hit an unstoppable shot which went in off the underside of the bar.
The game looked to be heading for a penalty shoot out until Gladwell volleyed home the winner with five minutes left.
Selby Olympia progressed with a 5-2 victory at Thorpe United thanks to a hat-trick from Harkin and one each from Hewitt and Ginty. Singleton and Wood replied for Thorpe.
The other quarter-final between New Earswick and Marcia fell foul of the weather and will be played on February 17.
York John Smiths Sunday League division one leaders Severus WMC came away from Acomb WMC empty-handed as a 30-yard Mark Hirst volley gave the home side victory.
Title challengers Nestl Rowntree took advantage of Severus's slip to regain top spot with a 5-2 win over FC Magnet. Osbourne (2), Jones (2) and Wain were the scorers for Rowntrees with Jack Wilson (penalty) and John Harrison replying for Magnet.
Pocklington moved back to the top of division two with an 8-0 thumping of Shipton, Michael Murr netting a hat-trick.
Derwent Arms, still harbouring hopes of promotion gave their chances a boost with a 5-2 win over Riccall with goals from Triffitt (2), Luck (2) and Barker. Tim Connell scored Riccall's goals.
Goals from Noble (2) and Phillips gave Fulford Bay a 3-0 home win over Carlton.
Veteran striker Dave Robinson played his 500th game for Copmanthorpe and managed to hit the net at the beginning of the second half.
However, division three leaders The Mount already led by four first-half goals from Clark (2), Nicol and Harrison. Lee Johanson pulled a further goal back but Paul Nicholson hit a fifth for The Mount to increase their lead to four points.
Second-placed Otis Bar lost 4-3 at home to Nestl Flag for whom Simon Gatenby hit a hat-trick, the pick being a 25-yard strike to level the scores at 2-2.
Bishopthorpe and St Clement's shared eight goals, Joe Gardham hitting three for Bishopthorpe. Acomb Sports Club kept in the hunt for honours with a fine 6-2 win at BH Colts with Beech scoring twice.
In division four, Foy Ryan, Ian Ferguson and Simon Lawrence all scored twice as Haxby Lions continued their good form with a 6-1 win over Acomb Celtic. Gregory scoring Acomb's consolation. Hemingbrough remain in second place after a 3-1 win at Fulford WMC, Harrison scoring twice. Wigginton Grasshoppers continue to lead the way after their 3-2 win at Raskelf.
Despite being reduced to ten men in a goalless first half, division five leaders Opticare still managed to overcome Greyhound 3-1 with Matty Bostock scoring twice.
Inland Revenue are second in the division - their highest league position since 1986/87 - after a comfortable 5-1 win over Wanderers. David Lund (2), Mark Lund, Burn and Ingram scored their goals with Michael Cammidge scoring a late consolation for the visitors.
Volunteers Reserves had to work hard to scrape a 4-3 win over Sporting Civil Service with Kev Jackson scoring twice. Andy Nicholson scored two for Sporting CS.
Burnholme took the lead after only 43 seconds through Thornton against Knavesmire and further goals from Bonner and Bickerdyke made it 3-0 before Bainbridge and Carrington reduced the arrears only for Preece to restore Burnholme's two-goal advantage. A Carrington penalty set up a tense last 15 minutes but Burnholme held on for a 4-3 win.
Hambleton have their sights on the division six title after beating nearest rivals London York 2-0 thanks to goals from Wilson and Rawson.
First York moved off the bottom with a fine 2-1 win at Heslington with goals from Sampson and Watkins.
