ON Sunday February 10, Helmsley YFC will hold its annual ploughing match on land kindly donated by Mr F Mallory. It's taking place on the A170, two two miles west of Helmsley between Waterloo and Court House farms.
Entry to the field is via a forestry road and will be sign-posted from the A170. Entry will be on the field and ploughing will start at 10am. The entry fee will be £5 including raffle tickets.
There will be classes for conventional, reversible (open), vintage mounted and trailed, match ploughs, classics and YFC. A catering van will be in attendance.

WE have now restarted meetings following the foot and mouth epidemic. We meet on Mondays at 7.30pm at Hovingham village hall and further details can be obtained from Dan Shipley (07713) 512398.

KIRKBYMOORSIDE YFC will celebrate its 70th anniversary in March this year. A dinner dance will be held to celebrate this event. Details will be available at a later date but for any information on this please contact Annabel Strickland.
