FORMER York City trainee goalkeeper Miles Massey appeared before magistrates today accused of supplying the drug Ecstasy to former Sheffield Wednesday player Thomas Staniforth.
Massey, 22, of Mill Lane, Acaster Malbis, is charged with supplying one tablet of MDMA (Ecstasy) a Class A drug, to Mr Staniforth on August 18.
Massey, who was also on Barnsley's books at one stage, was committed to York Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing in March, and remanded on unconditional bail.
Mr Staniforth, who was a promising player in the Sheffield Wednesday squad, died last year aged 20. His father, Gordon, is a former York City star.
