I WRITE in praise of the service provided by the First York bus company in the city.
Several times recently I have left home for the five-minute walk to the bus stop, caught the bus, changed onto another at the station and been in Clifford Street in the centre of York within 25 minutes of leaving home.
Admittedly, this was not during the busy times, but if I had gone by car, parked and walked to the city centre I could not have done it as quickly.
My criticism of public transport is that it doesn't advertise itself enough. A few weeks ago a letter in the Press stated we need a "£2 ticket permitting the holder to transfer from one bus route to another".
We already have one - the Day Rover.
