GET the Windsor wellies ready, the Queen's coming to Emmerdale. She will even drop into the Woolpack.
This will complete something of a royal pub crawl. In 2000, Prince Charles popped into the Rovers Return, and last year Her Majesty pulled a pint in the Queen Vic.
Unfortunately soap pubs are stuck in a 1950s timewarp. The Queen could be under the impression that the licensed trade has not changed since loyal subjects toasted her Coronation in halves of mild.
We therefore respectfully invite her to visit a real York pub. A royal endorsement of the Gimcrack would certainly boost the campaign to keep it open.
