Second-placed Severus were led from the front by their captain Glynnis Simpson as they gained a valuable 6-3 victory at Burton WMC.
Clifton gave the top two a nudge, Jan Wilberham and Jacque Richford winning the decider at Cygnet, while Leeman 'B' lost 6-3 to Britannia 'B'.
Division three leaders Jubilee, were pushed by Puss 'B', whose Colette Wilson slotted two tons.
However, Sylvia Keenan put the leaders 4-2 up and Mavis Irvin partnered Brenda Dawe to seal the win.
Woolpack's captain, Jackie Price, put them 5-1 up Sue Atkin Puss 'A' team's only winner. Pack are now joint second with Shepherd who narrowly beat Clifton 5-4.
Their captain Ann Wood, and Julie Stables won the deciding leg after Clifton's skipper Linda Embleton (140, 140) and Sarah Van-Minnen had levelled.
York John Smith's Mixed League division one leaders, Cygnet 'A', had 180 scorer Dave Gibbons partnering Lynn Thompson to get the decider at Huntington.
The latter had an excellent 180 for 19 darts from Tracey Farmeary and Angie Hields threw 140, 100, 121 in 20 darts.
Tap, one point behind, took the match with Leeman 'A' 6-3 whose Phil Smith shot 19. Tap's John Smith (21) and Michelle Britton (23) starred.
John Miller - Marie Marshall gave Cygnet 'C' the decider over their 'B' side. Other last game winners were taken by Jim Hawksby - Sue Smith (Beeswing), Peter Swift - Jo Brown (Bay Horse) and James Backshall - Tracey Billingham (Vaults).
