Post Office took another step towards promotion from division one with a 3-0 win at St John's College.

Andy Tuite set them on their way with a goal in the 20th-minute and Andy Bonarious increased their lead just before the break. Richard Dalby put the game beyond the Students when he netted with a chip over the goalkeeper from 20 yards ten minutes before the final whistle.

Malton Bacon Factory are two points behind Post Office with three games in hand and are looking like title favourites but they were given a fright by Civil Service and had to rely on a Tom Oxtoby goal, three minutes from time, for a slender 1-0 home win.

Osbaldwick are third after their latest win at home to Huby. Neil Price struck twice to give Osbaldwick a 2-0 lead in the first half.

The second half belonged to the Triffitt family with Mark hitting two goals and brother Andy netting once.

Andrew Metcalfe scored a consolation goal for Huby 15 minutes from the end to make the score 5-1.

Haxby Town returned to form and dealt a severe blow to South Bank's promotion hopes. Jeremy Hansbro struck twice and Dave Jeffries once in the first half to give Haxby a 3-0 half-time lead. Simon Kehoe pulled one back for South Bank after the break but then they let their frustration spill over and had two players sent off, leaving Jeffries to round things off and give Haxby a 4-1 win.

Wigginton Black Horse moved out of the relegation zone with a deserved 3-1 win at Norwich Union.

Richard Hunter netted the only goal of the first half after ten minutes to give the Insurance Men the lead but Black Horse dominated the second-half and goals from Frankie Adams, Steve Hudson and Nick Grewer gave them a 3-1 result. Elsewhere Thorpe United and Hammerton United drew

1-1.

Fulford's division two promotion hopes were dealt a severe blow as they went down 2-1 at home to bottom of the table Heworth.

Veteran Nick Flanagan put Heworth into the lead from the penalty spot and then scored the second before Steve Dunn brought Fulford right back into the game 20 minutes from time but they could not find an equaliser.

Haxby & Wigginton won 3-1 at home to Hamilton Panthers with long throw-ins leading to all their goals.

Richard Igledon and Graham Gallagher put them two up by half-time and Craig Parker hit the third. Gallagher managed to deflect a Mark Moore shot into his own goal to give Panthers a consolation.

In the only other division two game to survive the weather a Steve Norman penalty gave Heslington a 1-0 win at Easingwold.
