Steve Hodgson, the No 2 seed, took 23 minutes to beat Milford's Mark Thompson 3-0 at Dunnington last night to reach tomorrow's York Men's Veterans' Squash Championship final.
The opening game saw Thompson take an early lead 3-1 with excellent retrieving by both players.
A 37 shot rally saw Hodgson regain the serve .
The six times York Open champion is favourite to win his first veterans' title. He will play RI's Brian McRobbie, who beat Paul Turner 3-0.
In the plate competition Dave Booth having a 2-0 and 8-1 lead in the third conceded to Dunnington's Glen Martin because he is unable to play on the finals night. Martin will play Stillington's Bob Fletcher, who beat Wigginton's Graham Rhodes 3-0.
