Undeterred by strong winds and rough water, the junior women of York City
Rowing Club won three medals at the Boston Head of the River race at Boston in Lincolnshire.
Sculling over the 3,000 metre course Caroline Jones and Charlotte Richer won
women's junior 18 double sculls in 12mins 39secs beating Lady Eleanor Holles School by just a second to clinch the gold medal.
It was the fourth successive win for the partnership and Jones also went on to win women's junior 18 single sculls in 14-21.
Sarah Whitwell and Jessica Knowles won the women's junior under 16 double sculls when opponents Newark Rowing Club were disqualified. They went on to win in 16-05.
YCRC is now training for the next Head of River Races which will be at Durham on February 2, Peterborough on February 9 and the South Yorkshire Head on February 16.
