I AGREE with Chris Titley's comments about the Barbican Centre (January 9). It is a real asset to York and there are a lot of people who make good use of it.
I attend the 50+ class on a Wednesday afternoon, along with about another 23 or more people and we are all worried about the classes coming to an end. I have also attended quite a few shows in the auditorium and every one I have been to has had packed houses.
I think whoever buys the Barbican should be made to keep it as it is and spend money on improving all the facilities, not pull the building down. It has only been up ten years after all.
