I WAS surprised to read the police believe that the increase in drink-driving offences is down to a younger generation of drivers who are unaware of the dangers of such an action (January 9).
What rubbish!
People who drink and drive know perfectly well what may happen as a result of their actions.
However, they belong to the I-want-it-so-I'll-take-it brigade, or, in this case, I-want-to-do-it-so-I-will".
They are the same people who are directly or indirectly responsible for the vandalism and muggings we see all around us every day.
